What does intensity mean?


I have been thinking…

What does intensity actually mean. To me it used to mean things like training as hard as possible, going to failure, forced reps, sweating, grunting, getting an insane pump, vomiting and generally pushing yourself to another level. I suspect it probably means much the same to those of you who are reading this.

I have developed a wider take on intensity over the past few months as I have endeavoured to develop my powerbuilding philosophy. My view has broadened to include some additional things within the gym and also some things on the outside.

To me it is about having the most productive workout possible. This means making a contribution to my wider goals that I am hoping to achieve. At the moment I am focussed on hitting my 950 kg raw total as well as moving towards my goal bodyweight of 120 kg. My time…
