Mentoring Wendler

Another Wendler special. Jim talks about the importance of having a mentor. One of the most important things for me has been learning to listen to others and accepting that there are others who know a lot more than me. This is one of the most important lessons you can learn.

I joke with the young guys in the gym about how I was only allowed to load weights and spot for the first 2 years after I joined the gym. The point is you have to earn respect. I cringe when some skinny kid walks in and starts dishing out advice to guys who have been lifting for 20 years. Shut up and lift. These are the same kids who post advice on internet forums. Not doing themselves any favours.
