Being a bit restricted as I return from injury, I have embraced the trap bar deadlift. It is not a substitute for the deadlift, well not for powerbuilders anyway. Athletes and football players may use it as such. I see it as just another posterior chain movement to build the chain and develop a back of steel. I really like the way the movement hits the upper and lower back.
I have a big hairy audacious goal of hitting 400 kg or 880 pounds on the trap bar. I am getting closer. I will keep you posted but 365 kg felt pretty good. So I might give 400 kg a run in the next two weeks.
