We don’t have a lot of girls at Eastside. Michele has just started on her powerlifting journey. Today was her first bench session at Eastside. She made some big strides today. Her first couple of sets the bar was hitting her collarbones which is of course way too high. We worked on getting the bar out further at the top and hitting lower on her chest at the bottom. This top set on 47.5 kg was her best. Plenty to work with including getting a better tuck her elbows and using those triceps and also getting her shoulders back and building a big solid base with her upper back.
Michele is really keen and I can’t wait to see her progress to a bodyweight bench very shortly.
